This is my second pair of Oboz. They are high quality functional shoes/boots. I wear a size 11 and find them true to size. These are comfortable and warm for everyday running around in the Wisconsin winter.
this boot is much smaller than the size it is sold as.
Could not pull the boots onto my feet. Not enough room in the shaft of the boot to angle your foot into it, zipper should be angled.
I did 3 weeks of sometimes obsessive internet research to find a boot with all the features I wanted. I ultimately settled on this one as it is waterproof, has a vibram arctic grip sole to protect against slipping/falling, light weight (this is how they feel to me), semi-slip on and well insulated... and came up with Oboz sphinx. Oboz recommends you go a half size up from your regular size...I am a women's 9 W and often go for a men's size 7 -- always do this with my Merrell boots and clogs. So I ordered size 9 1/2. Size 9 would have been too small. The 9 1/2 fits well with a fairly thin sock. They would be too snug with a thick wool sock. Truth be told I was initially looking for something shearling lined so I could wear them barefoot. I've been wearing them for my daily walks and they are extremely comfortable..so much so that I don't mind wearing socks. My feet are nice and toasty at all times. These anti-slip boots rock! (of course, not literally).
These boots are exactly what I wanted, and being Oboz, you know the quality. I bought a size bigger after reading the reviews , and they fit great. The biggest con, these boots are difficult putting on, they need 2 zippers, one on each side. When I wiggle my foot with downward pressure, I can put them on. Very comfortable with thinner socks. I would buy them again.
These are well made but a little low volume so the too is pushing down on my instep. If these came in wide that would be awesome! They are very hard to get on too. They are just shaped really weird! But, I wear them for work so I don't care.
These boots are excellent and exceeded my expectations. They keep my feet super warm and have worked well on the recent snow/ice we've had. The first time putting on they felt a little tight on the top of my foot, but after the second wear, they were broken in and are so comfortable. They have a built-in insole which is actually great.
I ordered an 8.5, my usual size and getting in and out of the short zipper with tall shoes, was pretty difficult. I returned them for a 9 and they are a bit better. I think these shoes might need a zipper on each side. Very stiff. Once on, they hug my foot nicely. Although over all a bit narrow. My foot could use something a bit wider. Quality seems good. I have worn them 3 or 4 times. We shall see. I got them to walk when the streets and sidewalks are a bit icy. Good, but not great. I have ordered some small spikes to go over them for the more extreme days.
Quality boot. Runs narrow and small for the size I ordered. Would order again if a wide width was available
These are more easier to put on than their lace up model and less clunky. I am typically a size 8 in shoes and 8.5 in boots, went with a size 9 on these and they are just right. My toes doesn't hit the edge and the fit is snuggly without constricting my ankles. The zipper on the side doesn't help with putting on and taking off, but there is a back tab on the back to help you get the boots on and off. Haven't tested out the Artic Grip on black ice yet, they are orange colored specs vs. blue specs on am use to in Merrells.Updated 02/09/22--The Artic Grip on these worked on black ice! Also walked a few miles in snow and all the ice and sleet from blizzard in the Northeast.
