I had never heard of Oboz before until I ordered a pair of boots in a different style a few years ago. I fell in love with this brand and when I saw this style, which looked like it had a bit more ankle support, I just had to order them. Straight out of the box, I couldn't believe how light they were. Even with thick socks, they were easy to pull on. I usually wear a size 7 in a shoe, but I ordered a 8.5 in these boots because they seem to run just a little bit small and my toe kept hitting the front of the boot. I knew I needed a larger size in addition to the toe thing because my feet swell when out hiking. The 8.5 fits wonderfully and allows me room to wear thick hiking socks with a little bit of wiggle room, but snug enough to not have a loose heel. I've worn these boots out in the field on a number of different occasions and have not had a single blister or hot spot. Plus, they have good ankle support for me and the tread is sturdy and has kept me me from slipping in wet or slick situations. I also really like the bright red color I ordered. I did, however, have to replace the rounded laces with flat laces in order to keep the laces from coming untied. I have this issue with pretty much all of my hiking boots and really wish hiking boots would come with flat laces in general. Once I replaced the round laces with flat ones, I had no more problems. As for arch support - I have flat feet so I can't really tell you much about that, except that my feet are comfortable and the boots are not heavy and clunky like others I have in my closet. I know how quickly styles come and go, and I like this particular style so much, I ordered another pair just to have after this pair wears out.

I’m a middle aged woman who likes to walk in my regular shoes/boots…but training for hiking I got these after trying some highly suggested keen targee ii(not a good fit for me). These fit so perfectly. Firm and good looking. Sooooo comfortable. The perfect tightness with a good amount of toe room.My toes don’t rub. Heels don’t move. Mid foot feels well supported (I have low arches). They’re very waterproof.Waterproof - hiking in the Pacific Northwest. Walks in the rain - dry feet. Walk on the beach with 40 mph winds in the rain - dry feet. 7 mile walk in the rainforest through puddles and rain - dry feet. 5 mile walk with torrential downpour and cotton pants - wet feet due to wicking from pants to socks…an inch of water in the boots and they were totally comfortable without rubbing…for a serious hike I’d have prevented this situation but at a certain point I was ready to find out what the boots did under water pressure. It was a crazy day to hike. Ended up carrying my dog half the way and just walked right through the deepest puddles. In. A. Rainforest. During. A. Rainstorm.Droving home in bad road conditions - bad visibility, standing water on the roads, flooding rivers, I appreciated my boots and my little suv x1000000 - even wet my feet were warm and cozy.

I love these boots! Because of the aggressive traction on the soles and the ankle support , I feel like I can do pretty much anything in these! I've been down steep slippery slopes covered in layers of slippery leaves, shoe swallowing mudders and loose or rocky gravel both ascending and descending and they'be kept me steady throughout all of it. With the correct socks and proper lacing (a pro hiker showed me how to do this) my feet stayed comfortable and my back did not hurt even after long grueling hikes. I've stepped in streams and walked through 10 miles of rain and my feet have always come out perfectly dry. For the reviewers who say these are not waterproof there must be some kind of defect in their particular purchase or the water entered through the top of the boot. that's the only way my foot would get wet in these. Because they are hiking boots I believe they do run a little large in order to allow room for thick hiking socks. I am usually a size 7 and that's the size I bought. I cannot wear these with regular socks but they're not meant to be worn with regular socks. I did try on a 6 1/2 first and they were just a touch too small to hike in. It's important to always try on hiking shoes with hiking socks! One small bonus, they are super cute I got the red ones 😍

These, and I must say all hiking boots I have tried run 1/2 size small. They were the most comfortable boots I have ever worn from out of the box. They are very well made and I am comparing them to other top brands i.e. Merrel and Keen. I really like the styling and fit of these boots. I have worn them on muddy, wet, and dry hikes and they have exceeded my expectations. The only reason I did not give a 5 Star rating is that the manufacturer claims they are waterproof, but they were getting water stain from the first wet hike. The water would not bead up but instead soak into the leather. I did not actually get wet inside the shoe but I would think that if the leather is getting saturated that quickly it would be a matter of time before I would get wet feet. I have a great product that I am going to use to waterproof them better. That said, they are great boots with a superior fit for my foot shape and I like the styling and detail. The tread is deep and the toe and heel are reinforced. I have only had them a couple of months but I believe they are going to last a long time - I probably won't need another pair for several years. Another reason I choose these is because of the neutral colors. So many of the boots out there are strange colors fads that will make the boots look outdated after the fad passes so I chose colors that would outlast the current trends. Nice boots!!! Super comfortable!!!

I loved the quality and look of these boots! Had To return because they do run narrow. I will be ordering a size up in this brand.

Loved them from the second I put them on, supportive, grippy, felt very secure walking on rocky/gravel slope. So worth the money and will be looking for more footwear in this brand! I did order 1/2 size up from my usual and it was a perfect decision!

A friend of mine, who is a badass hiker/mountaineering gal recommended this brand to me. I had plantar fasciitis at the time and could not be as active as I wanted because of it. I gave these boots a try and it is the best decision I've made. Love these boots. I am on my 3rd pair. I had to purchase other brands when REI no longer had them in stock in red in my size. I was very excited to find out that Amazon carried them. They fit my feet perfectly, offer great ankle and arch support and they are waterproof. I highly recommend these boots.

I purchased these new Oboz (same size as always) and unfortunately, months have passed before they hit the trail -- still doing too much cycling. When I did, yikes it was, painful from the start and definitely the left boot is not sized correctly because that is the issue. I know this because my right foot has ALWAYS been a bit longer then my left but no problem with the right boot. A very experienced hiker, I could not manage to complete ten miles on either hike. Exact debilitating blisters manifested in the same place both times, left foot only. Guess Oboz quality is not what it used to be.

    Worth the money!

These are lightweight and comfortable however they are so narrow I will not be able the wear socks with them. I’m hoping if I break them in some I will be able to wear socks with them.
